These pictures are of an asbestos pipe insulation removal in progress using glove bag methods.
Glove bags are used on pipe insulation as an alternative to a full room containment, the bag itself is the containment for the asbestos.
The bags are sealed around the areas to be removed and are air tight, preventing any asbestos fibers from escaping.
All removal and encapsulation is done inside the bag, minimizing the chance for outside exposure.
After the removal, any exposed pipe insulation is wrapped in lag cloth and painted with a thick encapsulant to prevent any further exposure to asbestos.
